Parametric CAD (Computer-aided Design) refers to things, sketches, objects, shapes, and or points having a parameter, dimension, or size. This is great for parts that fit together or things that rely on other sizes. What’s really useful is the ability to go back and edit the base sketches or sizes of objects at the beginning of a design and have it update everything after to suit.
