Cricut Maker 4

The Cricut machine can cut, write, draw, engrave, and emboss with precision. It works with 300+ materials, including popular materials like vinyl, iron-on & cardstock — plus leather, matboard & more

You can upload your design to the Cricut Design Space software, print it out on the university printers, and use its preset guide marks to intricately cut your design out.

If you want to use this machine, you will need to have a brief induction with a technician. They will talk you through the Design Space software located in the lab.

Making Playing Cards?

Follow the step by step instructions below

⚠️Tips⚠️
Don’t double-sided print – The printer never aligns. Print the front and backs separately then glue them together with a glue stick
Use MAX 250gsm paper in the printer via the bypass tray – Any thicker and you will likely get paper jams

1. Download the instruction document to read up on our card recommendations

2. Download the applicable A4 or A3 standard or tarot card template (list below)

3. Apply your design to a new layer in the template using the guides for reference

4. Print – Make sure to turn off appropriate layers via the layer panel (e.g. the cut line guides)

5. Bring your cards to the lab to use the Cricut – If it’s your first time cutting cards, please speak with a technician

6. Load up the correct Cricut cut file

7. Load up your work onto the Cricut

8. Use a glue stick to stick the front and back together

9. Weigh down the cards with a flat heavy object and wait for them to fully dry
